[原文]MSO.DLL in Microsoft Office 2000, Office XP (2002), and Office 2003 allows user-assisted attackers to cause a denial of service and execute arbitrary code via multiple attack vectors, as originally demonstrated using a crafted document record with a malformed string, as demonstrated by replacing a certain "01 00 00 00" byte sequence with an "FF FF FF FF" byte sequence, possibly causing an invalid array index, in (1) an Excel .xls document, which triggers an access violation in ole32.dll; (2) an Excel .xlw document, which triggers an access violation in excel.exe; (3) a Word document, which triggers an access violation in mso.dll in winword.exe; and (4) a PowerPoint document, which triggers an access violation in powerpnt.txt. NOTE: after the initial disclosure, this issue was demonstrated by triggering an integer overflow using an inconsistent size for a Unicode "Sheet Name" string.

Some Excel Information
======================
- Microsoft Excel uses the BIFF (Binary Interchange File Format)
- in Excel 8.0 (Excel 97), BIFF8 was introduced
- in Excel 10.0 (Excel XP), BIFF8X was introduced
- Excel 97 and Excel 2000 can read BIFF8X, except new features added with Excel XP.

Since BIFF5, all data is saved in OLE2 Storage Format/Structured Storage, which
can contain streams and storages.


A BIFF record is builded as follows:

We found this block of records two times in an empty Excel document. I haven't
found an exact explanation about these records. It could be, that the record
FFFE defines the sheet range. More in the OpenOffice reference link on site 100.

Overview

   Microsoft has released updates that address critical vulnerabilities
   in Microsoft Windows, IIS, and Office. Exploitation of these
   vulnerabilities could allow a remote, unauthenticated attacker to

I. Description

   Microsoft Security Bulletin Summary for July 2006 addresses
   vulnerabilities in Microsoft products including Windows, IIS, and

   VU#395588 - Microsoft Internet Information Services vulnerable to
   remote code execution via specially crafted ASP file 

   Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) contains a buffer
   overflow vulnerability. This may allow a remote, authenticated
   attacker to execute arbitrary code on a vulnerable system.
   (CVE-2006-0026)


   VU#189140 - Microsoft Server Service Mailslot vulnerable to heap
   overflow 

   A buffer overflow vulnerability in the Microsoft mailslot server
   service may allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on a
   vulnerable system.

II. Impact

   A remote, unauthenticated attacker could execute arbitrary code on a
   vulnerable system. An attacker may also be able to cause a denial of
   service.


III. Solution

Apply a patch from your vendor

   Microsoft has provided updates for these vulnerabilities in the
   Security Bulletins. Updates for Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office
   XP and later are available on the Microsoft Update site. Microsoft
   Office 2000 updates are available on the Microsoft Office Update site.
   Apple Mac OS X users should obtain updates from the Mactopia web site.

   System administrators may wish to consider using Windows Server Update
   Services (WSUS).

Overview:

	There exists an overflow condition in Microsoft Office
	when a malformed string included in an Office file is
	parsed by any of the affected Office applications.


Details:

	The problem resides in the code of MSO.DLL, a shared
	library used by Office applications, so the vulnerability
	can be exploited using different attack vectors.
	For example, the vulnerability can be exploited using a
	malformed Excel 2003 file. By changing the size of the
	Unicode "Sheet Name" string with an incorrect size, it is
	possible to generate an integer overflow condition. Excel
	2003 will crash while opening the malformed file due to an
	access violation error with an invalid value of
	EAX=0xFFFFFFFC.

Microsoft Office is prone to a code-execution vulnerability. This condition can occur when a malformed string within an Office file is parsed.

This vulnerability is located in a shared library used by multiple Office applications, potentially allowing many different attack vectors.

An attacker could exploit this issue by enticing a victim to load a malicious Office file. If the vulnerability is successfully exploited, this could result in the execution of arbitrary code in the context of the currently logged-in user.

This issue differs from the one described in BID 18912 (Microsoft Office String Parsing Remote Code Execution Vulnerability).
