Elite Forum contains a flaw that allows a remote cross-site scripting (XSS) attack. This flaw exists because the application does not validate the 'Post Reply' field. This may allow a user to create a specially crafted URL that would execute arbitrary script code in a user's browser within the trust relationship between their browser and the server.
The vendor has discontinued this product and therefore has no patch or upgrade that mitigates this problem. It is recommended that an alternate software package be used in its place.
gladiator is credited with the discovery of this vulnerability.
Elite Forum Elite Forum 1.0 .0.0
Elite Forum is prone to an HTML-injection vulnerability because the application fails to properly sanitize user-supplied input before using it in dynamically generated content.
Attacker-supplied HTML and script code would run in the context of the affected website, potentially allowing an attacker to steal cookie-based authentication credentials and to control how the site is rendered to the user; other attacks are also possible.
