Mac OS X contains a flaw in System Profiler that reports the Bluetooth authentication settings incorrectly. If the system is configured to require Bluetooth pairing, System Profiler will nonetheless label the device "Requires Authentication: No" in System Profiler.
Currently, there are no known workarounds or upgrades to correct this issue. However, Apple has released a patch to address this vulnerability.
