1. Problem Description

	A very long HOME environment variable will cause a buffer
	overflow in auditsh, atcronsh and termsh. 

	506 requires
	OSS646C installed prior to installation of this fix 

	The Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures project (cve.mitre.org)
	has assigned the name CAN-2005-0351 to this issue.

A local overflow exists in SCO OpenServer. The auditsh utility fails to validate input received from the HOME environment variable resulting in a buffer overflow. With a specially crafted request, an attacker can cause the execution of arbitrary code and gain additional privileges.

SCO OpenServer termsh application is affected by a local buffer overflow vulnerability.

An attacker can supply an excessive string value through the HOME variable to overflow a finite sized destination buffer.

A successful attack may allow the attacker to gain elevated privileges in the context of the application. It should be noted that the application is installed as setgid auth.

SCO OpenServer 5.0.6 and 5.0.7 are affected by this issue.
