Slackware Linux Net Installation Null root Password
Remote / Network Access
Loss of Integrity
By default, Slackware's net install option installs with a default password. The root account has a null password which allows login over the network without entering a password. This allows attackers to trivially access the program or system.
Upgrade to version 3.9 or higher, as it has been reported to fix this vulnerability. An upgrade is required as there are no known workarounds.
